\u00e0 la cha\u00eene, et non plus individuel et manuel.<\/p>\n<p>La premi\u00e8re Ford T de s\u00e9rie sort de l&rsquo;usine Piquette \u00e0 D\u00e9troit le 27 septembre 1908.<br \/>\nDepuis la fondation de sa soci\u00e9t\u00e9 en 1903, Henry Ford avait produit et mis au point plusieurs mod\u00e8les et prototypes de voitures. La premi\u00e8re avait \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9nomm\u00e9e mod\u00e8le A et la derni\u00e8re mod\u00e8le T, mais plusieurs des dix-neuf mod\u00e8les produits jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 la Ford T n&rsquo;\u00e9taient que des prototypes. La \u00ab T \u00bb succ\u00e9dait \u00e0 la \u00ab S \u00bb, qui elle-m\u00eame d\u00e9rivait du mod\u00e8le le plus vendu jusque-l\u00e0, la \u00ab N \u00bb. Au bout d&rsquo;une vingtaine d&rsquo;ann\u00e9es de production de la Ford T, ce n&rsquo;est pas un mod\u00e8le \u00ab U \u00bb qui lui succ\u00e9da, mais la toute nouvelle type A, qui devait par son nom exprimer le renouveau de la gamme.<\/p>\n<p>La Ford T fut d\u00e9clar\u00e9e voiture la plus importante du XX\u00e8me si\u00e8cle au terme d&rsquo;un sondage international.<\/p>\n<p>En France, il y avait beaucoup de carrossiers qui utilisaient des ch\u00e2ssis Ford pour leurs r\u00e9alisations.<\/p>\n<p>Le mod\u00e8le ci dessus en fr\u00eane et acajou a \u00e9t\u00e9 carross\u00e9 par les Ets CARDE \u00ab\u00a0Gustave Carde Fils et Cie\u00a0\u00bb \u00e0 Bordeaux. Ce sont certainement ceux qui ont carross\u00e9 le plus grand nombre de Ford T; parmi leur diff\u00e9rents mod\u00e8les les \u00ab Fregoli \u00bb\u00a0permettaient \u00e0 leur propri\u00e9taire de choisir l\u2019am\u00e9nagement \u00e0 leur guise, soit en utilitaire t\u00f4l\u00e9 ou b\u00e2ch\u00e9, soit avec des ridelles ou en plateau, il y avait 8 versions en tout.<\/p>\n<p>La conduite en est assez particuli\u00e8re :<br \/>\nLa transmission est contr\u00f4l\u00e9e par trois p\u00e9dales au sol, un levier mont\u00e9 \u00e0 la gauche du si\u00e8ge conducteur et deux leviers au volant \u00e0 gauche et \u00e0 droite. L&rsquo;acc\u00e9l\u00e9rateur est un levier, \u00e0 droite du volant.<br \/>\nEn enfon\u00e7ant la p\u00e9dale de gauche, on enclenche le premier rapport dit \u00ab court \u00bb. En la remontant, on passe en seconde, rapport \u00ab long \u00bb. En la ramenant en position centrale, la voiture est au point mort, ce qui peut aussi s&rsquo;obtenir en tirant le levier de gauche.<br \/>\nLa voiture peut rouler \u00e0 vitesse constante sans que le conducteur n&rsquo;appuie sur aucune p\u00e9dale, l&rsquo;acc\u00e9l\u00e9rateur \u00e9tant command\u00e9 \u00e0 main droite.<br \/>\nIl n&rsquo;y a pas d&#8217;embrayage, ce qui fait de la \u00ab T \u00bb l&rsquo;anc\u00eatre des v\u00e9hicules \u00e0 bo\u00eete automatique.<br \/>\nLa p\u00e9dale centrale sert \u00e0 partir en marche arri\u00e8re et celle de droite contr\u00f4le un frein sur la transmission.
